День в Шеньчжэне. Часть 2 - Старый жилой фонд

Не смотря на обильную перестройку города, в Шеньджэне остались кварталы из иконичных старых китайских панелек. Тех, кто был в Гонконге, или хотя бы читал посты на канале, должен узнать их характерный стиль.

На удивление, именно такие районы города самые живые. Тут больше всего ресторанчиков и всяких барахолок, люди живут хоть и бедновато, но за своим домами следят, выставляют всякие цветочки и прибирают у входа. Я почти уверен, что большая часть постоянного населения Шеньджэня проживает именно в таких местах.

Видно, что за жильём следят. Здесь фасады в разы чище, чем в Гонконге, а под ногами практически нет ни мусора ни грязи, даже в узких переулков меж домами. Невольно становится жалко, когда понимаешь, что такой район скорее всего уже через несколько лет пойдёт под снос, и будет заменён очередным 50-этажным полупустым кондо

A day in Shenzhen. Part 2 - Old residential areas

Despite the city's extensive redevelopment, Shenzhen still has neighborhoods of iconic old Chinese panel buildings. Those who have been to Hong Kong, or at least read posts on the channel, should recognize their characteristic style.

Surprisingly, these areas of the city are the most vibrant. There are the most restaurants and all sorts of flea markets here. People may live modestly, but they take care of their homes, putting out flowers and tidying up the entrances. I'm almost certain that the majority of Shenzhen's permanent population lives in such places.

It's clear that the housing is well-maintained. The facades here are much cleaner than in Hong Kong, and there's hardly any trash or dirt underfoot, even in the narrow alleys between buildings. It's hard not to feel sorry when you realize that such an area will likely be demolished in a few years and replaced by another 50-story, half-empty condominium.
