Проходил к слову в Шереметьево электронный погран контроль, пока видел его только в Дубае. В целом удобно, нужен новый загранник (который можно отсканить), быть 18+, встать у экрана для фотки, приложить отпечаток и выбрать цель поездки. По времени занимает столько же, сколько и обычный, но с погранцами не контактируешь. Из возможных минусов, перед этим смотрят, куда летишь, видимо не на все направления можно пройти. Подсказали, что куда угодно можно, значит вроде и минусов нет)

By the way, I went through electronic border control at Sheremetyevo, although I've only seen it in Dubai before. Overall, it's convenient. You need a new passport (which can be scanned), to be over 18, to stand in front of the screen for a photo, provide a fingerprint, and select the purpose of your trip. It takes the same amount of time as the regular one, but you don't interact with the border guards. One possible downside is that they check where you're flying to beforehand, and it seems not all destinations are available. They told me you can go anywhere, so I guess there's no real downside after all.
