Of course, there are sidewalks in Morocco, unlike in Southeast Asia, but their quality is a whole other story. Apparently, they're managed by the adjacent building (no building - no sidewalk😂), and they can be made from any available materials, most often cheap tiles.
The cleanest and widest sidewalks are, as usual, around government buildings, nice restaurants, and wealthy homes, while the worse the neighborhood, the more urinated and trashed the sidewalk will be.
There are many homeless cats in the city, which pee and poop right on them, and of course, no one cleans it up. Almost everywhere, there are traces of frozen, blackened chewing gum and tons of discarded cigarette butts. It smells terrible, it's very unpleasant to walk on such surfaces, and it's scary to bring shoes into the house. Well, let's just leave this to the conscience of the Moroccans. I wouldn't want to live here permanently.
