#Seoul
Continuing my urban exploration, I'd like to talk about Seoul's parks, particularly the river parks. Korea has one of the best approaches to coastal zone design and preservation in Asia, if not the world.
Haters will of course say that the area around the main Hangang River is a mess (and they'll be partly right - the urbanization of the 1980s left its mark, and there are still huge highways there), but now Korea is moving in the right direction, preserving and restoring natural areas along water bodies.
In the photos are two of my favorite examples of such urban design - the Yangcheon Stream (1-6), stretching along the entire south of the city, and the Songpa District Canal (7-8), smoothly flowing into the Olympic Park (9) in the southeast of Seoul.
