Of course, I got around the city by renting a bike. I registered with Donkey Republic, which allows you to borrow bike shares from parking stations. The starting fee is €1.0, followed by €0.5 every 15 minutes. Overall, it's cheaper than using public transport.
However, I was annoyed that despite the city's tourist appeal, there aren't many options for short-term rentals without a local ID (Donkey Republic seems to be the only one). The bikes are technically available at the stations, but only 1-2 out of 10 parked ones work. I often encountered broken ones with flat tires and so on. It's doubly frustrating when the nearest one is a kilometre away, you walk for 10 minutes, only to find it's also broken and you have to look for another one in a nearby area. To be honest, bike sharing in my Toronto is way better than here.
