#Пекин был крайне быстрорастущим городом, и где вчера были трущобы, сегодня уже высятся небоскрёбы. Но в пределах центрального кольца осталось и много районов, не тронутых гентрификацией.

Называются они по-простому хутун'ы (переулок с китайского), и представляют собой настоящий слепок эпохи, в которой жили прошлые поколения китайцев.

И нет, это не какой-то аттракцион для туристов, а обычные жилые кварталы, расположенные в самом центре города.

#Beijing was a city that grew extremely rapidly, and where there were slums yesterday, skyscrapers now stand today. But within the central ring, there are still many areas that have not been affected by gentrification.

They are simply called hutongs (alley in Chinese), and they represent a true snapshot of the era in which past generations of Chinese people lived.

And no, this is not some kind of tourist attraction, but ordinary residential neighborhoods located in the very center of the city.
