Who really pissed me off in China were the moped riders. I haven't been to Vietnam, and apparently that was a good thing, because I've already had enough of these assholes. It pissed me off so much that it'll be one of the top reasons why I don't want to live in China.

In Beijing, they completely ignore traffic rules, allowing electric scooters to drive on both roads and sidewalks. There's no priority on the road, and every second person feels obligated to honk like crazy at others to get them to move out of the way, including pedestrians. Giving way? - pff, who the hell cares about that?

Couriers especially love scooters, who probably come from the most backward villages and have an IQ below autistic levels, because the way they drive around the city is absolutely insane. They're willing to ride straight into crowds of people, honking every second just to get them to let them through with their shitty orders.

The icing on the cake is that many scooters aren't even considered vehicles, and therefore drive without license plates. But since there's no license plate, there's no penalty for traffic violations either - there's no one to hold accountable. So why the hell did they install a million cameras all over the city in the first place?
