#Beijing
If you haven't been to Russia in a long time, like me, and have forgotten what it's like when the state treats people like cattle, feel free to come to Beijing!
The experience of standing in queues at checkpoints under the scorching sun at +37°C to get to the "sacred" Tiananmen Square (à la Moscow's Red Square) is indescribable. But afterwards, you'll be able to look at the government building through a blocked road, or at the flag behind three fences. And of course, at the plainclothes police, who I don't even know who they're working for anymore.
Among other options - crowded subways, because the police decided to check documents at the exit. People finally gave up after half an hour, as the station ended up being overcrowded.
Or you'll just have to put your backpack through the X-ray machine every time you enter the subway, while standing under a camera that's staring at you and probably collecting biometric data for some deepseek. But it's all to prevent terrorist attacks, which will definitely not happen in the crowd in front of the entrance!
In short, the COVID pandemic in China wasn't in vain - the social gulag for the population is now being successfully built.
