7-Eleven.

It's a pain in the ass #Tokyo

On a relatively non-hot day, we went hiking with a friend outside the Tokyo JR network. Lots of greenery, local temples, small towns, and of course cemeteries (sorry!). On the horizon, you can see the skyscrapers of Shinjuku and even the Tokyo Tower!

What I like about such places in Japan is that even here everything is tidy, green, and accessible for pedestrians. There's never a problem with the sidewalk ending along the road, or having to walk along a five-lane highway.
Take any village - kids can walk to the local school, and basic food can be found in the nearest 7-Eleven.

Of course, in such places everyone has a car, and it's hard to get around without one. But unlike in America, they don't try to pave everything over and make life unbearable for people without a car.
