On the route, there was also a visit to Oshino Hakkai, a tourist-friendly historical village near Mount Fuji.

And here I'll say that I wish I hadn't come here, because it's just a place overrun with tourists. The village is quite small, and it's nearly impossible to navigate the streets. All of this happens in the heat under the scorching sun, which almost gave me a heat stroke. In fact, all the houses here are adapted to make money off tourists, selling a bunch of overpriced food and souvenirs that can easily be found in the nearest town.

On a positive note, I remember the temple near the cemetery to the north of the town. At least because there wasn't a crowd of tourists there.
