В Киото находится производство саке Gekkeikan, основанное аж в 17 веке. В 1989 года компания открыла большой завод в Калифорнии, и теперь поставляет доступный по цене саке на американский (и канадский) рынки.

Не смотря на то, что сфера японского алкоголя очень конкурентная, доля Gekkeikan составляет 10% мировых продаж, и 25% на рынке Северной Америки.

The Gekkeikan sake production facility in Kyoto was founded all the way back in the 17th century. In 1989, the company opened a large factory in California, and now supplies affordable sake to the American (and Canadian) markets.

Despite the fact that the Japanese alcohol industry is highly competitive, Gekkeikan accounts for 10% of global sales and 25% of the North American market.
