Как понять, что в Шанхае все же живёт 25 миллионов человек?

Конечно по обилию таких 30-40 этажных высоток в любой стороне города. И явно такое жилье стоит прям очень недешево - локация не слишком далеко от центра, с парком и набережной вдоль реки, да и сами здания вполне ухоженные.

Гугл говорит, что цены за квартиры в таком районе варьируются от 10 до 15 тыс usd за квм. То есть хороший 1 bedroom в 50квм обойдётся ~600тыс долларов. Немало даже по мировым меркам, согласитесь!

Of course, it's evident from the abundance of 30-40-story skyscrapers in every part of the city. And such housing is clearly not cheap - the location is not too far from the center, with a park and a riverfront promenade, and the buildings themselves are well-maintained.

Google says that apartment prices in such an area range from 10 to 15 thousand USD per square meter. That means a good one-bedroom apartment of 50 square meters would cost around 600 thousand dollars. That's quite a lot even by global standards, wouldn't you agree!
