#Hiroshima is one of the few major cities in Japan where trams still operate.

#Хиросима - один из немногих крупных городов Японии, где сохранились трамваи.

Так как город находится в дельте реки, почва здесь не пригодна для туннелирования под метро. Поэтому муниципалитет втопил все силы в наземный транспорт, и сейчас здесь самая большая сеть трамвайных маршрутов в Японии.

В мою поездку я даже застал открытие новой ветки, ведущей из центра прямо до второго этажа центрального вокзала!

#Hiroshima is one of the few major cities in Japan where trams still operate.

Since the city is located in a river delta, the soil here is not suitable for building underground metro lines. Therefore, the municipality has invested all its resources in surface transportation, and now it has the largest network of tram routes in Japan.

During my visit, I even witnessed the opening of a new line that runs directly from the city center to the second floor of the central station!
