Не очень шарю за Африканскую политику, но как понял контекст примерно такой:
В Сенегале в 2024 пройдут выборы, в которых будет на третий срок баллотироваться действующий президент (с 2012 года), набравший ~58% на последних выборах. Два месяца назад оппозиционный кандидат (~15% на выборах) был арестован и приговорён к двум годам тюрьмы, что не позволяет ему участвовать в выборах. В связи с этим и происходят протесты против политики действующего президента

I'm not very familiar with African politics, but as I understand it, the context is roughly as follows:
In Senegal, elections will be held in 2024, in which the incumbent president (since 2012), who won ~58% in the last elections, will be running for a third term. Two months ago, an opposition candidate (who got ~15% in the elections) was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison, which prevents him from participating in the elections. In this context, there are protests against the current president's policies.
